Dragon Capital was founded in April 2000 in Kyiv by a group of Ukrainian and Czech market veterans, who had worked for Wood & Company, a leading investment bank in the region. In 2002, we opened a representative office in the Czech Republic to expand our successful M&A advisory business to Central Europe

Our premium position in the Ukrainian market is demonstrated by four Best Equity House in Ukraine awards from Euromoney, presented to us in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006, or each of the four times the respected financial publication selected nominees from Ukraine for this accolade.

In the first half of 2006 alone, Dragon Capital completed six IPOs and private placements for Ukrainian companies, having raised almost USD 190 mil. Over the same period, we attracted USD 350 mil. of debt financing for local corporates.

Dragon Capital became the largest Ukrainian stock broker by trading volume in 2005. We cemented our leadership in 2006, having accounted for over 30% of total stock turnover on the PFTS, Ukraine’s principal stock exchange, in January-June.
