THE SUMMARY

On October 4 and 5, conference hall of Rus Hotel in Kyiv hosted Second International Forum IPO+: Increasing Company Value organized by Ukraine Corporate Development Project of the International Finance Corporation with support from sponsor companies – Baker & McKеnzie, ITT Investment Company, Squire Sanders, Concorde Capital, Pro-Consulting, and Levenets, Maciw & Partners.

The Forum, as reported by its participants, has been extremely successful. One company representative even suggested “holding “spring” sessions in the same format, insofar as a one-year break is too long, particularly in view of a burst of interest in IPO observed Ukraine”… Total number of participants of the Second International Forum IPO+ neared 170 persons from leading rapidly growing Ukrainian companies operating in many different sectors – industry, agriculture and construction materials, transport, trade, as well as banking.

Second International Forum IPO+: Increasing Company Value has confirmed that the question “Where to find capital for development?” has not become less topical for company owners and managers over the last year. However, having compared the attitudes that prevailed last year to those prevailing today, we cannot but note that considerable changes have occurred in the attitudes and opinions of the representatives of Ukrainian business over last year. In particular, owners and top-managers of leading companies now have a better understanding, or have even become strongly confident of the fact that an IPO, or raising capital from some other sources, it not an end in itself. A successful IPO makes sense only if it is a natural component of company development strategy.
