Erich Obersteiner

Erich Obersteiner joined Raiffeisen Centrobank AG as Head of Equity Capital Markets CEE in 2005. Between 1999 and 2005 he was Joint CEO of Wiener Börse AG, the Austrian capital market operator. Erich was chairman of the supervisory board of EXAA - Energy Exchange Austria between 2001 and 2005. From August 1999 to June 2002 he was also a member of the executive board of NEWEX® Börse AG, a specialized exchange for listing and trading Central- and Eastern European securities and a joint-venture with Deutsche Börse AG.

Before that he co-ordinated the international investment banking activities of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG with a special focus on Central- and Eastern Europe. From 1994 until 1998 Erich served as managing director of Raiffeisen Capital & Investment Praha, the local investment banking outlet of the Austrian Raiffeisen banking group in the Czech Republic.

Erich Obersteiner holds a graduate degree in business and economic informatic and a Ph.D. in economic informatic from the University of Vienna as well as an Executive MBA degree from California State University Hayward. He is a Visiting Professor at the IEDC Business School in Bled.
