Charls Trevis Canfield

Charles T. Canfield, CPA, J.D., Illinois, USA, is the Project Manager for the IFC Azerbaijan Corporate Governance Project.  He has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Elmhurst College, Chicago, Illinois, USA and a Juris Doctor with a concentration in International Law from Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, USA.  Charles has over sixteen years professional experience in accounting, consulting and law, with seven years of that spent in developing countries of the former Soviet Union.  Charles has assisted these countries implement  international best practices related to corporate governance, including International Financial Reporting Standards, International Standards on Auditing and has drafted accounting and audit legislation in four separate republics.  In addition, Charles has experience as an auditor and tax advisor with international accounting firms as well as legal experience as a corporate attorney with one of the tenth largest law firms in the world.
